School Ministry

There are many different ministries currently operating in schools throughout Lake County.  We have mentors who work with students to help develop academic and social skills through one-on-one and group interactions.

Our tutoring movement has been in place for three years.  We have retired teachers, college students, as well as other community volunteers that give of themselves in order to enrich the academic comprehension of our kids.  We have a before-, during-, and after-school program at eight of the local area schools that offer a vast array of activities, including tutoring as the center of our focus.

We also have awesome relations being established through the usage of the principle of mentoring.  Mentoring provides an opportunity for a human being to share in the information they have gained from life experiences that can benefit the individual being mentored.  Our mentors share their time, energy, resources, and knowledge to help a student feel loved, encouraged, and able to succeed in school, home-life, and in the future.  We have witnessed many miracles performed through the intimate bond that is formed during a mentor / protégé relationship.

We also engage our students with activities such as our Popsicle Ministry, Pizza Parties, etc. as an incentive.  In addition, we feel the teachers and the staff in our schools are a much underappreciated group.  We provide Teacher of the Month Awards and faculty / staff luncheons, among other activies, to show community appreciation.

Our students are our future, and we have entrusted our teachers to develop our students.  Both are in need of community support to help with the monumental task of maintaining a level of excellence.
